According to Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam, Gabriel M. Lessard, the Terry Fox marathon is the largest one-day event to raise funds for cancer in the world. Last year 6,000 people took part in the run in Hanoi and HCM City, and this year approximately 2,000 Hanoians and foreigners alike joined the event in the nation’s capital.
“I love to join charity activities because I feel I’m being useful,” said Minh Thu, a student of Hanoi Economics University, who gathered with her friends at 7am, around Thien Quang Lake to prepare for the marathon.
