Many of the 15,000 out of state students attending Iowa's public universities will drive home after finals but the long drive home is no time to start resting.

Researcher at the National Advanced Driving Simulator Tara Smysers said, "You have what's called 'microsleeps,' and you feel your head nodding because you are falling asleep at the wheel."

It can take up 30 minutes for caffeine to start working in your body and experts recommend stopping every hundred miles or so and taking a short walk or a short nap.
