After the tsunami the family set up the Louise Willgrass Tsunami Fund in the United Kingdom for the establishment of a school in Phuket to help rebuild the area.

It has raised $1.4 million with the help of $34,000 raised at the Schools for School event organised by Mrs McConchie and a committee of friends at Ballarat Grammar School in March.
