Redondo ran into a deep and talented Bishop Amat team in the championship game of the Ayala Best of the West Tournament, losing the final, 60-49, at Ayala High. Redondo (12-2) and Bishop Amat (13-1) were tied, 36-36, midway through the third quarter when the Lancers put together a 13-2 run to build a 49-38 lead. Tournament most valuable player Candace Brown scored 12 points to lead Bishop Amat.
"Amat is the better team," Redondo coach Marcelo Enriquez said. "They have five players on the floor who can score. We made some poor decisions, tried to force some things, and lost our poise."
