Louise Miles and Michelle Smith from Helensburgh met when their five-year-old daughters, Katy and Chloe, contracted the disease and were treated in the same ward at Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Katy is in remission, but Chloe died earlier this year. After the tragedy the families wanted to build something positive from the situation and created The Little Book of Big Smiles.
